“Pittsfield Elm” in Sacramento, CA

A group of TCC members visited the California Department of Parks and Recreation Archaeology Unit laboratory in West Sacramento, California, in 2009. We assisted the state park archaeologists in identifying a wide range of transferware dating from the 1820s, all unearthed from various park sites. Just one of the highlights was an almost complete assembled “Winter View of Pittsfield, Mass” (aka “Pittsfield Elm”) plate.
